Meet Janet
I started my career with John L. Scott in 1994, working in the Redmond office at the front desk. Then, I progressed to work as an assistant for a few top John L. Scott agents, and eventually ventured out on my own and got licensed as an agent in 1998! Now, I am based in the Kent North office, working primarily on residential and condominium properties in Kent, Covington, Maple Valley, Auburn, Renton, Des Moines, Federal Way, Tacoma and Tukwila.
Clients who work with me are often refreshed by my no-pressure approach. I truly care for my clients, and go into every listing or buying appointment with an eye on my clients’ goals, truly listening to them. My goal is to make the process of buying or selling a home streamlined and positive, so I can earn your referral in the future. I enjoy the opportunities as a broker to meet new people and work as a problem solver.
When working with seller clients, I know the importance of moving fast and executing a marketing plan. Everything that needs to be done to sell a home needs to be done within the first week, and my average market time is two weeks! It’s critical to have everything ready on the market date, and I have a full plan I execute that includes fliers, signs and an open house on the opening weekend. And of course, I ensure the price and home is “right,” to maximize opportunities. This approach, coupled with my expertise in negotiation translates to success in selling!
I am very active in my community, and spending time with my family is important to me. All four of my children have played soccer, and my husband and I both are involved with our local soccer and school community. I’m so proud of my children, and staying involved in their lives keeps me young!
Covington
Though people have lived in Covington for centuries, the city wasn’t incorporated until 1997. We’ve seen exponential growth since then, and there’s never been a better time to call this friendly town home. The people who call Covington home were drawn here for the beautiful surroundings and small-town feel. We also enjoy the convenience of stores like Home Depot, Costco, and Walmart, and dining at Applebee’s and Red Robin right here in our own community. And locals and folks from surrounding areas come here for their healthcare needs. Along with that small-town feel comes a close-knit community and a sense of security. Neighbors look out for each other and we feel safe in our homes and parks. Our parks have beautiful walking and biking trails, some with views of Mt. Rainier and the Cascades. The Covington Aquatic Center provides year-round swimming, classes and party rentals. In July, residents come together for Covington Days, a weekend long celebration with a parade, booths, music, kids games and a watermelon eating content. During the holiday season, we gather to light the tree at Don Henning roundabout and the Aquatics Center hosts a movie-viewing float-in each Saturday before Christmas.
